This tour will begin at a popular Tanzanian restaurant where you will have a cup of spiced tea with mixed media artist, James Musoke-Lule. He will take you around the Cape Town City Centre discussing the triumphs and challenges of being an African artist. You get a chance to go to his studio to see where the magic happens before he takes you to Langa, where he exhibits his work in one of the Maboneng Township Arts Experience gallery homes. In Langa you will get the opportunity of exploring the township through our short graffiti walk and gallery home visits. Once you have finished touring the gallery homes, you will meet with artist Velile Soha at his gallery home. Velile is an artist and teacher who will host a beginners’ printmaking workshop. You will get to explore your creative side and take a part of the experience back home with you in the form of your very own masterpiece! Our art filled day will end with a hearty traditional meal.
The starting place for the tour is Guga S'thebe in Langa Township. It is safe with ample parking and security. You will meet our guide at the entrance of the Guga S'thebe Community Center.
